Greetings Friends,

The trees are unfurling and many flowers are blooming here in my little part of Oregon. In my church gathering this past week I was reminded of the importance for us to persist in our everyday walking that will support us in following Jesus. This requires a consistent willingness to keep imagining what might be possible, keep growing, keep transforming, keep hoping in being able to one day love as Jesus loves. 

Never do we expect a spring when the trees will simply cease growing, cease transforming from their bare trunks and branches. Nor should we expect or accept our own limited growth and transformation. This is why I am so excited by Gordon's conference call to us to Cultivate Imagination and Hope in and through Education.

This conference offers us time, space, connections, and purpose for our own growth and transformation that we can then take back to our communities, colleagues, and students for the work God has for us there in this work. We hope you will join this call as part of the International Christian Community for Teacher Educators.

Our Mission

The purposes of the International Christian Community for Teacher Education (ICCTE) are to:

1. Promote communication and encouragement among Christian teacher educators;

2. Promote research-based and theoretically informed conversation about a range of topics related to the preparation of educators; and

3. Promote broader awareness of the importance and value of Christian thought and practice in relation to the broad field of education.

Membership
History

AT LeTourneau University, in May of 2010, the International Christian Community for Teacher Education (ICCTE) was launched as a formal association.  Prior to that time, and dating back to a conference at Trinity Christian College in Chicago in May 1994, teacher educators and allied higher education personnel had been meeting every other year on the campus of a CCCU institution for the purpose of scholarly exchange and fellowship,  For further information about the history of the group, see an article by Van Brummelen and Elliott
